Happy Thursday everyone. It’s been far too long since I blogged, but in my defense, I have been traveling and then catching up! It’s tough being away from the office. For me, keeping on task after going away for a speaking engagement is the hardest part of my job.
I owe you a post on companies who handled disasters well. That will be up by next week. In the meantime, here is a quick video recap of The Rental Show.
I haven’t been to New Orleans for about fifteen years. I had forgotten about it’s charm. The restaurants were incredible! I only wish we had more meals to enjoy there. The people were great. The shopping was interesting. I had no idea that there were so many art galleries! The street performers were also fantastic.
As far as what’s new in rentals… I am still seeing a lot of sparkle. Crystal containers, lighting and pedestals are still hot. Linens are bright and colorful. Pucci inspired designs seem to be big. My table top display was called “Modage” (see photo below). I was inspired by the linen which reminded me of the 60s. Add some black and red and you have modern-vintage, or “modage!”
The linens were provided by Robin Brockelsby of Creative Coverings. Robin did a great presentation on new trends in linens (the other table top displays in the video are hers). If you are looking for inspiration, check out her company!
If you attended The Rental Show, I’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures. What did you learn? What inspired you?
